An immersive multimedia nighttime experience

Maison et Jardins Antoine-Lacombe

Maison et Jardins Antoine-Lacombe is a stunning heritage home that harmoniously blends culture, history, and horticulture. Built in 1847, the historic site is one of the oldest houses in the Lanaudière region. The home is surrounded by beautiful gardens in the classic English and French styles, dotted with eye-catching features and themes.

Hoping to further transform this exceptional location, the city of Saint-Charles-Borromée enlisted XYZ Technologies to design and create an immersive nighttime light experience. The project pairs horticultural art and digital art, enriching and growing the cultural and touristic appeal of the region.

The initiative is supported by numerous public and private parties, all united in the goal of building and modernizing the existing tourism infrastructure. The city carefully selected which stakeholders could best bring the new lighted trail to life, offering visitors an experiential work of art that engages the senses.

 

Description

The program is artfully synchronized to music to create a lush, sweeping light experience, bringing new life to the grounds. The technological assembly behind the orchestration includes 84 meters of LED strip lights, 96 architectural projectors, a 20-watt RGB laser, and 16 pixel lasers.

Set against the darkness of night, the show uses light and music to celebrate the cycle of seasons and life-giving water along the garden’s sculptures, structures, and walkways. The music is an original electro-swing score from a Quebec composer, while laser beams dance across stained glass, ponds, bridges, and lilac paths. The result? A garden transformed into a spectacular display that is at once festive, immersive, and meditative
