Located in the heart of the hotel zone, the Mayan Museum of Cancun opened in 2012. It houses an impressive collection of archaeological artifacts testifying to the culture and history of the famous empire. Inspired by the Mayan aesthetic, but firmly rooted in the modernity of the district, the museum’s architecture was designed by Alberto García Lascurain, architect, to fit in perfectly with its environment. Several open areas allow you to fully enjoy the climate and the surrounding nature. Welcoming visitors; 3 white columns 7 meters high, stand in a fountain at the entrance of the museum. Imposing but airy, the openwork aluminum sculptures created by the artist Jan Hendrix are made of delicate leafy patterns representing the flora of the region. The museum’s administration called on the experts of XYZ Cultural Technology to incorporate architectural lighting.
