Montreal, Canada 2017
Historic building in the Old Montreal, City Hall is an architectural building of the Second Empire, testimony of another era. For about five years, the City Hall has literally been under the spotlight. Dynamic lighting illuminates the facade and changes color to highlight important events. The control system interface had to be on the cutting edge of technology to change the lighting quickly and to facilitate the task of operators. XYZ’s expertise was therefore required to ensure its programming and configuration.
XYZ Cultural Technology’s experts have programmed a flexible and fast lighting operation system to use, allowing to plan a schedule with multiple configurations. The main mandate challenge was to allow different lighting control protocols to communicate with each other from a single, user-friendly interface.
With this easily adjustable lighting, the City Hall can quickly display its colors during celebrations such as St. Patrick’s Day and a victory of the Canadiens hockey club or events on the international scene (attacks, deaths …). Montreal is positioning itself as a metropolis connected to the rest of the world.
