Montreal, Quebec, Canada 2017
The port fresco of the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, inaugurated in 2009, allows visitation and appreciation of the industrial and social development of another era, with the contribution of numerous interactive devices. The 15 meters of the fresco invite you to discover through touch screens, portholes and speakers. The cultural institution wanted to breathe new life into the installations of this historic painting. Therefore, the museum used the expertise of XYZ Cultural Technology to update the content distribution system and interactive programming that support the animation of the fresco.
The XYZ team has replaced the application system that delivers content to the screens. The responsiveness of touch screens has been improved, and visitors can now interact with visual devices more efficiently. The application allows system operators to change screen content more easily. LED luminaires have been installed to make the backlight brighter and even. In addition, small speakers near the lamp post have been integrated into the interactive fresco and detect motion when someone sticks their ear to the device.
As part of the revamping of Pointe-à-Callière Museum integration equipment, XYZ offered an optimal solution based on existing constraints. The replacement of the application distribution system enhances the user experience and promotes greater attention to the key moments in Montreal history.
