The administrators of Batiscan River Park reached out to XYZ Technologies for their expertise in order to develop an innovative solution that would allow visitors to discover the site in a whole new way. The park includes a wide range of natural features, including waterfalls, rapids and pools all along the Batiscan river, and offers an equally impressive collection of outdoor activities, like hiking, mountain biking, canoe-kayaking and camping.
The goal of the initiative was to present this exceptional natural landscape with an interactive model, accurately capturing the full expanse of the park and all its nooks and corners. This highly-calibrated work aims to provide visitors with a fully-loaded information tool they can rely on when planning their excursions.
Since its debut, the interactive model has provided visitors with an exceptionally personalized visual experience, thanks in part to its simple, intuitive interface. Visitors can easily interact with the 24-inch MicroTouch touch screen solution, which lets them access and explore different areas of the park. By interacting with the screen, visitors can get detailed information on numerous park attractions, available all year long.
This experience is made possible with a sophisticated video mapping system and Vertex technology, enabling the development of custom control interfaces and interactive elements. The park maps, faithfully reproduced to scale from 3D satellite imagery, were crafted using CNC-machined MDF and finished with latex paint.
The animated satellite images are broadcast with a Panasonic PTVMZ71U 7000-lumen projector, adding rich dimension to the experience. With this system, extra elements can be easily incorporated, including cloud movements, bubbling water audio and the appearance of snow.
This new technological installation elevates the visitor experience throughout the Batiscan River Park. The XYZ Technologies team is proud to have shaped and contributed to such an advanced and impactful initiative.
