Wendat Endi’, Us the Wendat
Description
To meet the far-reaching goals of this modernization project, the XYZ Technologies team set out to craft a unique design that harmonized with the surrounding circular architecture, as well as the 20-foot ceilings of the building. Working with the space allowed the team to design a circular rear projection screen 17 feet in diameter and placed eight feet off the ground. This screen plays showstopping content on the creation of the world according to Wendat legend.
In this updated museum experience, the visitor journey passes through six distinct areas, each one a reflection of Huron-Wendat culture. The path includes numerous elements integrated along the way, including 12 illuminated trees, 10 full-scale figures from the community ringing the space, 23 display cases divided into 12 islands, over 150 artifacts, six interactive stations and about 100 graphic panels.
Visitors can see precious items such as traditional Huron-Wendat musical instruments, for a full visual immersion in the past.
Of all the challenges of this project, the timeline was one of the most pressing. With only five months to complete and install the work, we needed to maintain perfect synergy between our team and the museum team to achieve the seamless coordination and hands-on involvement each step required.
In summary, the unique demands of this mandate called for an elevated alliance between artistic, historical and technical expertise, which was a perfect fit for XYZ Technologies. Each challenge was transformed into creative opportunity, with solutions adapted to every need along the way.
